AIEEE 2007 Paper

Today AIEEE paper was held all across the country and had a duration of 3 hours.The paper was easier compared to last year.This was mainly due to the fact that this year pattern had been changed compared to last year.
The new AIEEE pattern this year sported 120 questions distributed equally among Physics,Chemistry and Mathematics ie. each subject had 40 questions and each question carried 3 marks.Last year there was non-uniform marking with marks of each question ranging from 1.5 marks to 4.5 marks and also there were 150 questions in all..
The uniform marking proved a boon to the students as the difficulty level of all the questions was more or less the same hence each question took same time to be solved.The reduced number of questions meant that one could attempt all questions in the allotted 3 hours.
Coming to the question that must be hovering all your minds:What will be the cut-off for AIEEE this year?According to me and also a few on my friends did a few calculations and have come to the conclusion that a student getting approx 185 marks would get a Rank of 10,000.The cut-off for 30,000 rank is expected to be somewhere around 135 marks.Now I have received some comments about people saying this cut-off is high..Well it is just a rough estimate and this year’s cut-off is bound to rise to due to easy paper and all the other reasons that I have mentioned above..Have a detailed look at cut-offs and expected institute wise ranks here.

I HAVE TALKED TO MANY EXPERTS AND THEY THINK CUT OFF FOR 30000
RANK SHOULD BE AROUND 125 MARKS. 180 SHOULD BE SUFFICIENT TO GET UNDER 10000.

Yes Pawan you can certainly expect a rank of about 10k…
@helldriver 230 marks can get you a rank of about below 5000…You will get a NIT in that…

The questions which don’t have a correct answer will be considered canceled..and no negative marks will be awarded…

hi ankur…….My name is Masthan Reddy from chennai. I am presently studying in state board syllabus and got the application to write AIEEE… and i have planned to get coaching for one month in T.I.M.E after my board exams get over…….. can i make it to NIT… And if you can give me some good ideas how to prepare within this short time….. That depends on which branch and which NIT you want to get admission into. But in general all the good branches in all decent NITs get over at around 10-12,000 AIEEE All India Rank.

Check your performance in the tests that you are giving.
Also if possible join some test series in 12th standard, assuming you are now in 11th standard.

DA-IICT closes below 10,000 and IIIT Hyderabad at around 3000 in first counseling if I remember correctly.
