AIEEE 2008 Cutoff
The AIEEE 2008 Paper was held all across the country today. The paper had equal distribution of questions and marks in each subject. The paper had 35 questions in all three subjects and each question carried 3 marks for correct answer and -1 mark for incorrect answer. The Maths section had assertion and reasoning type questions while the Physics section had a passage. I have gone through the paper and have made the following analysis :
- The pattern change has made the paper a bit difficult
- No. of questions reduced to help students score more
- Overall difficulty level increased
- Physics was the toughest paper out of the three

I have gone over the paper thoroughly and have taken feedback from many students who appeared for AIEEE 2008 and have compiled the list of the rank you can expect on the marks you are expecting in AIEEE 2008.
Actual AIEEE 2007 ranks according to marks obtained in AIEEE 2007:
The comments are now getting repeated and it is not humanly possible to reply to all the comments. So I will answer the most general questions here itself.
- You can know your expected rank by looking at the table for expected AIEEE 2008 ranks posted by me above.
- Cutoff for AIEEE 2008 central counseling is expected to be about 80-85 marks if the number of seats are increased due to OBC quota else it will be about 95-100 marks
- Your admission to NITs and some of other institutes depends on the state you belong to as there are fixed number of seats allocated per state in each NIT.

Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology : Around 8,000-9,000 AIR.
Jaypee Institute Of Information Technology, Noida :
CSE - About 16-17,ooo , ECE- About 28,ooo, IT - About 30,000
Thapar University :
Punjab Quota : CSE - 9,000 , ECE - 7,500 , Mechanical - 13,000, ICE - 15000 , EEE - 17,500 , Civil - 23,000 , Chemical - 24,000 , BioTech - 21,000
Outside Punjab Quota : CSE - 6,500 , ECE - 6,200 , Mechanical - 8,700, ICE - 7,800 , EEE - 8,500 , Civil - 13,000 , Chemical - 11,000 , BioTech - 13,000
Punjab Engineering College :
Chandigarh Quota : About 15,000
Outside Chandigarh Quota : About 10,000
I am not quite sure about the PEC cutoffs.
LNM Institute of Information Technology - About 9-10,000
IIIT Hyderabad : About 2-2,500
IIIT Allahabad : About 4-5,000
Vellore Institute of Technology : Around 10-11,000 overall cutoff. For ECE branch : Around 6-7,000

I am from Andhra Pradesh and General Category boy. My AIEEE score is 163. As per your link of state rank I am getting rank between 2001 to 3000 state rank.
Can I get admission in IIIT, Hyderabad by considering my state rank?
Also tell me I got 13163 rank in VIT, 689 rank in Mata Amritanandamai, Suggest me which stream can I get in VIT and in Mata Amritanandamai.
Basing on all my above marks suggest me which institute is the best for my future career.
I am also preparing for BITs on 22-05-08.

I am from Jharkhand and getting 165 in AIEEE-2008. Can I get admission in MNIT-Allahabad, BIT Mesra or any IIIT. Please consider the state quota while answering and also tell the possible branch of engg. that I can get !!!

hii ankur……i hav a real problem..actually i m interested in architecture now but i hav not given the aptitude test ie. the b.arch paper of any engineering exam…..is there any way by which i can pursue architecture in my life…..can i still take up architecture through any other college ?? if yes please name dat college…..i m frm haryana my score in aieee is 90-1oo…..plss help….
