AIEEE is going the JEE way……by putting assertions and comprehensions.
Nevertheless, i guess the standard of paper was the same as previous year’s.

I think this may not be the case…because paper was of same standard as the last years.
So i think 240 marks will be required for 1000 AIR.

Yes the change has been to make AIEEE a bit more like IIT-JEE wich requires more thinking.
But at the same time they didn’t want to make it tougher so reduced the no. of questions.
As for my early impressions I would say that there would not be much be much change in the cutoffs but they will dip slightly.
Detailed analysis will be put up by evening.

I think (as on 27 apr, without knowing any coaching’s opinion) 170 wud suffice for 10000
rank. As of last year, 201 marks meant 11000 rank, which is bout 56 percent.

introduction of new topics like mathematical reasoning, screw guage etc. has made aieee tougher this time. physics was really toughest of the three, i think 280 no. will be required for under 500 rank

Hi…..Ithink maths was quite easy only a few questions were quite lenghy so there could have been a time management problem……..chemistry was usual aieee very little level up but wasn’t Physics too damn complicated
Everyone here has seen previous year papers which were comparitively extremely easy
Shouldn’t that have a major impact on the cut off?

Have patience buddy.The guys need 3 hours to solve papre and they out with key by 5.30-600 pm .
Rechecking before uploading taks time.
Therefore maybe around 9.00pm is fair time to expect solutions.

Narayana Solutions are not reliable this time around.
I feel that they messed up in a hurry to release the solutions.
FIITJEE and Career Launcher solutions are out and they are pretty much reliable.
Check your score using them and have a look at AIEEE 2008 Cutoff post to check your expected rank and also the opening and closing ranks of various NITs and other institutes for AIEEE 2006.

hey guys: every solution key gives different answers.By fiitjee i get 183; by narayana 179 and different by others.Damn confusing yaar.
Any comment on the correct solutions.
There wasnt somuch confusion in IIT solutions.
Wait for brilliant & bansal solutions too.
BTW I am getting 194 in JEE and 183 in AIEEE.
Where are chances brighter? Any other fence sitters?

There are quite a few questions that don’t have correct answers like
a) Working transistor question where the correct answer is pnp with common base
b) Toluene Nitration question where the answer is 2,4,6 Trinitrophenol
c) Speed of sound in Helium where the answer is ~1420.
Hence the confusion in various answer keys.
Career Launcher seems to be the most relaible of the lot as of now.
Except for Toluene Nitration question (Q no 46) and geometric progression question(Q No 15), they seem have got all the others correct. Even in these two cases, their explanation given is correct, only choice is marked wrong
As usual, FIITJEE got four or more answers wrong (eg: Question 20, 22, 88, 89,..) Narayana also goofed up this time.

the paper was a bit tougher this time
i dont think the rank assesment you gave was not correct. you say 150-175 get 10k-20k. last time my friend who got around 180-190 for 360 got around 5k .so please assess again!

well frnds dont be too worried im getting exact 158 after consulting solutions 4m different sites.last year 201 marks saw a rank bout 11000 nd 211 about 9900.so aprox 10 marks make a difference 1000 ranks but
as we cross 14000 ranks 5 marks see a difference of 1000 ranks.
so for 20000 rank last year finished at 160 approx .
this year paper was tougher than last year but this was compensated by less que
so this time 20000 rank wil end at 148-152 marks
10000 rank will finish at 178.
coz this time there will be more students getting same marks.
nd only getting 152+25marks will make 1 jump 2 10k rank
im giving this detail after working 4 hrs on net
i can be wrong chances r slim

i feel you may be wrong…for if you see around, you will find out that there are a lot of people(may be 5000-7000) between 170-200…i feel that each mark between 170-200 costs a lot… and for 150-170…may be another 3000….so still a tough ride for those getting between 150-170…

AIEEE 2008 is now over but the Question remains as to how many Questions are wrong in the paper. In my opinion 3 Questions are wrong one each in P,C,M and these are sound velocity, 2-4-6 trinitrobenzene,transc and irrational no.
In addition Answer to NPN/PNP transistor(testing by multimeter) is doubtful. I request Ankur to comment on these four questions.

As per brilliant tutorials I was expecting around 137. But then my mark is only 97 , My AIR is around 59000 and SR is 1331. I’m from Tamil Nadu . What can I expect.. ..?
