AIEEE 2009 Cutoff

Initial reactions from students indicate that there was a major change in the pattern of the paper taking them by surprise. Also Maths was the toughest according to many. Check out the comments!
The total marks of the AIEEE 2009 paper were 432. Each section had 30 questions with 90 in total. There were 6 questions of 8 marks each and 24 questions of 4 marks each. The 4 mark questions had -1 mark for incorrect answer while the 8 mark questions had -2 marks for incorrect answer.

The final cutoff has been uploaded after some major changes, the first one was too liberal as I soon figured out after posting it. This should be closer to the actual ranks one can expect in AIEEE 2009.

i am getting 243 in AIEEE 2009,i am a resident of west bengal……..considering th e 50% quota for west bengal residents in NIT DURGAPUR, can i expect ELECTRICAL OR COMPUTER in NIT DURGAPUR….also please do mention if there are any chances in NIT ROURKELA

Ankur, I think that’s a bit over-the-top. Earlier the table was too liberal and now I believe it is too miserly.
I have seen this year’s paper: the negatives are higher, and each section is tougher compared to the last (Imagine if one guy gets one 8 mark question wrongly marked – that’s a whopping minus ten!)
I think the top 10,000 ranks could go upto 205-210 marks.

i got just 192 in aieee 2009. the pattern took me by surprise and i was not able to improvise. i know i have no chance of getting a seat in the top five NITs but do you think i have a chance of getting a seat in NIT kurukshetra? i am from assam and am confident about getting a seat in our NIT silchar, but i would really like to study in one of the top 10 NITs. do you think it is possible?
