DCE/NSIT CEE 2008
I felt the paper was a bit easier than last year especially the physics part, although different people have different views and it is hard to compare CEE papers coz they are of easy level already.
I except the rank distribution to be along the same lines as last year with minor variation as is always there. But I expect the cutoff rank to go upto 1300 as there have been seats increase in IITs and also some other institutes. The cutoff last year was 1138.
I will quote the branch wise cutoffs of 2006 as they are most likely to be closer to 2008.
Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology (NSIT) : COE : 348 ECE : 348 IT : 551 ICE : 893 Biotech : 893
Delhi College of Engineering : COE : 522 ECE : 536 IT : 605 EE : 830 Mech : 890 Biotech : 1081 Civil : 1306
If you are interested in 2007 branch wise cutoffs then let me quote them also :
Netaji Subahsh Institute of Technology (NSIT) : COE : 267 ECE : 307 IT : 500 ICE : 821 MP : 909
Not too sure about DCE branch cutoffs for 2007.
The marks-ranks distribution for 2007 was :
The Common Entrance Exam(CEE) is held every year for admission to Delhi College of Engineering(DCE) and Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology(NSIT) is meant exclusively for students who belong to schools in National Capital Territory of Delhi.
The notification for admissions to NSIT/DCE through CEE was released a few days ago. You can have a look at the notification here.
The CEE 2008 exam will be held on 31st May 2008.
There is a reservation of 85% for Delhi Region and rest 15% will be filled through AIEEE ranks.
The forms will be available from 14th March 2008 to 16th April 2008.And the completed forms should reach the university by 16th April 2008 by 5.00 PM.
The forms will be available only at the two colleges ie. NSIT and DCE. The form costs Rs.400 and the payment should be made by Pay Order/Demand Draft.
Another step taken by DCE/NSIT is taking the admission online.You can now download the form online from DCE or NSIT website and then fill it and attach a Demand Draft of Rs. 400 and sent it via courier to the university.
You can also request the university to send you the form by sending a Pay Order or Demand Draft of Rs. 475 to the university.
The Demand Draft/Pay Order should be in favor or “Registrar,Delhi University,Delhi” with mentioning the name,telephone number and address of the applicant at the back.
Outside Delhi students DO NOT need to fill this form.A separate counseling form will be made available by the university after the results of AIEEE and CEE have been declared.That form will have to be filled by aspirants from both Delhi/Outside Delhi region seeking admission into DCE/NSIT.

As expected the cutoff is much higher due to an easy paper.

Last year results were out on 12th June.
This year they would be in and around the 15th June.

yea,last year cee was around 28th ma nd results were out by 7th june!!!don’t know about this time.
and me too was getting 9/2 as the answer,i left it coz it wasn’t in the option.i think they give such questions purposely….!

ambedkar institute ,shakarpur has the best placements under ip ….and if you’re getting a good rank in ip and not getting anything decent anywhere else then go for it

I got 974 rank in manipal which guarantees me any branch of my choice.
My dce paper was alright expecting around 380 marks.
my aieee rank is 27573 and state rank is 2823(delhi).
kindly suggest my chances in aieee and dce.

yea even i was getting 9/2 as my ans in the area question…btw im getting 369 in bits and expect 450-475 in dce…according to the cut off i shud get cs in pilani..is it better tho to take mechanical or ec in dce/nsit?

im vry afraid of one fact which i would request anyone here who r asking questions to ankur pls clear me.if 34 percent reservation is mentioned in dce brochure how can cutoff of mech for general category go to rank 890 as mentioned by ankur in dce.acc to reservations thre are only 500 seats to compete for in dce.

I think ankur will be able to guide u about the good colleges, but I think that u will get a rank around 40,000 or so….but that’s just a mere guess.
