Hi ankur,the counselling brochure of jee 2008 says that there is provision for change of “branch”(in case of some IITs) and “branch/program” (in case of remaing IITs. Can u tell some thing about the differece.

i have secured air-3264 in iit-jee 2008. which is the best option for me? evryone tells me i should take any field in any iit as it does not matter after MBA but i am not sure i want to do an MBA after engineering….

my AIR is 5286.with that rank will i be able to get into bhu(any branch)considering the fact that some seats have been increased even in general quota.

i wanted to ask a few things:-
1. i hav got 120 marks in aieee and hav gone thru ur expected ranks list. but plz can u tell me more specifically abt the maximum rank i can expect and will i get a good college with it. Iam a delhi region candidate.
2.is there SECTIONAL CUTOFF FOR DCE CEE AND GGSIPU CET or ur total aggregate is considered for deciding ur rank.

I would just like to know why you don’t put more categories in your poll, especially in the above 250 bracket. There is a large percentage in that group, and is also the most important one. It will give a better idea of where we stand.

Is there an extended merit list for the SC candidates?
Moreover the cut off for for JEE 2007 was published in many news papers in Andhra Pradesh.It said it was 123 marks for SC candidates and 69 for the ST counterparts.
And how many marks should we get to get selected in the prep course(relaxation).Please reply.

I am currently in 12th standard. I want to apply for IIT JEE 2009. Which are the books that I should refer that is more than enough in Phy, chem and Math for my prep.. I am doing it on my own and I do not plan to go to any coaching classes.

Answers of none of the institutes tally completely with each other?
There are different answers for as many as 6-8 questions given by different institutes.As a result, the marks differ by as many as 20-25.
How will the IIT admn. determine ? Will they ever release the correct answers? Do they do every year?

hello sir, firstly i wish to thank you for all your guidance here.
i have gotten about 145-150 in the iit jee paper and it will not be enough to pull me into the merit list but just may be able to put me in the extended merit list.
Now i was wondering what would be my chances in Bits or even DCE (belonging to delhi so have the 85% reservation advantage) condidering i perform at a similer level as i did in iitjee (if not better).

Thanks for your response. But I find bit of flaw in logic, Last year 70% got 278 rank and this year as I could get from your comments the difficulty level was higher at leat by 10-15% so with this in mind the rank with 330 marks should be around 100. I am not trying to be rude or challeging your comments and also I know it is very hard to predict.
I am just commenting to check , if I am missing anything here. You might have some good analysis of feedback.
