The new IIT-JEE 2007 Pattern

The IIT-JEE paper this year was a bit of surprise to not only me but also many students who appeared for the paper today across the country..

Lets get down to the pattern straight away which has been a point of discussion throughout this year.

This year the JEE had been cut down to 2 papers from 3 papers each of 2 hours hence reducing the duration of the papers by 1 hour which had been the past trend.

The BIG surprise to me was that both the papers this year had the same pattern but I found the second paper a bit tougher than the first. Both the papers had the following pattern:

Each paper was divided into Physics,Chemistry and Mathematics and each one of them had three sections..This image describes the pattern perfectly :)

The paper was on the easier side except for the 6 mark questions which everybody messes up due to multiple correct choices.

I expect the cut-off this year to be around 40% with cut-off for individual subjects hovering around 30% mark…

    to have scored less.
